Diet R & R

This was the beautiful room at the spa we got the pleasure of living in for 2 days! It was called the Art Deco Room - the spa has only about 15 rooms for overnight guests and they all have interesting themes to them. The Spa was so relaxing and wonderful...we got a couples massage, Chris got a facial, and I got a glycolic peel and a hot stone pedicure. And we ate. Delicious food. And we drank. Delightful wine made at the Chateau. There was no calorie counting but there was lots of discussion about smart eating choices and while we weren't perfect, we were very good.

There were 8 restaurants on the property - on Friday night we went to the Irish Pub and had a salad instead of fries and ordered our sandwiches without mayo and bacon. On Saturday we ate at the Spa restaurant for breakfast and lunch which was great because their menu had all healthy items with the calorie content listed. We went to the french restaurant Saturday night and had a delicious salad with fresh berries and watermelon dressing, a small filet with a baked potato instead of mashed and we split a molten chocolate cake for dessert. Yum! Total indulgence! But Chris made us walk back to the spa - about half a mile - both nights after dinner. I was so angry with him both times but when we got back to the room, I felt good about it and knew it was the right thing. So, hopefully we didnt totally undo all the hard work we've done during the week...tomorrow will tell. The scale doesn't lie.
We picked up Bart a day early. He was very happy to see us. It would have been strange to come home and not have him here with us. So...there's a cute story about Bart's daycare...apparently there is another puggle who boards there that is friends with Bart. His name is Homer. Bart and Homer, the puggles, are friends in real life! :-)
Goodluck to everyone tomorrow morning!
