Week 29 Update
Last weeks update came on the heels of "New Scale Woe". This week finds us after "Comfort Eating Galore" and the numbers don't lie. Its been a rough couple of weeks - we've all been battling colds, we've been grieving losses, the cold and the snow are getting us down. But we can not let these things keep us down.
I'm listening to the State of the Union Address as I write this. President Obama is talking about education in the US and how we are falling behind other countries, how parents need to set an example for their children by turning off the TV and letting their kids know that winning Science Fairs is more important than winning Super Bowls. I can't help but draw a parallel to obesity and healthy living. We are an overweight society. For myself, when I REALLY break it down, it is laziness. When I want the donut, I don't want to be bothered with telling myself no. When I don't go to the gym or do any form of exercise, it is because I am being lazy. When I order take out for dinner, it is because I am lazy and don't want to cook or stand up to the individual who suggested pizza.
Lets all make a positive change this week and share it here on the blog. We need to set a good example for each other and like Angie said, do this with and for our families. I'm so happy to have you all along for the journey with me because we are family.

Just a note not about the diet but if the president does not want us to watch tv how can we see his state of the union... and if he wants science fairs he has to provid the money for them... Just saying.. and as for the diet I think we did really good with a little piece of ice cream cake to celebrate Jons b-day.. Good job all for not eating a BIG piece.. just a little to cure the craving.. portion, portion, portion
