So, it's really no secret that we love to eat. Almost every day I would eat beyond the point of fullness. And of course, not the healthy stuff - the fun stuff. Fast food, red meat, potatoes, anything deepfried or smothered in cheese, ice cream, pizza, cookies, chips, cake...ok, you probably get the point and I'm making myself really hungry. It has been really hard to give all of these favorite things up. But I know that in the long run I'll be happier and healthier.

It's actually been harder to cut out alcohol than cutting out certain foods. I'm not really sure why. About a month ago, I was on a bunch of different medications to treat bronchitis/allergies/asthma (whatever it was, it worked) and I had three glasses of wine one night and I got so sick. Since then, I can only have 1 or 2 glasses of wine. I'm not sure if its because that is all my body will handle or if I'm scared of getting sick again. But I love to have my glass of wine after dinner and Chris loves to have scotch at night. He did not have the unfortunate experience that I did so he has more than one glass.
Intellectually, I know that I shouldnt drink when I'm trying to lose weight - it's one of the worst things you can do. Drinking all those empty calories (130 in 5 oz. of red wine) when you could be eating something healthy and filling.
