The New Republican

I know the blog is about weight loss and the challenge of weight loss and our individual struggles. But I am a avid watcher of politics, tuning into conservative talk radio during the day, and listening to the dull constant drone of Fox News as I use my computer at night. I've been a McCain voter since day one, more specifically, a no-Obama voter, but take a look to the right. My grandfather, what I would describe as a hard-core democrat, is going to vote McCain / Palin. You can't possibly know what a big deal this is, he always votes democrat - no matter what, but not this year. Now they live in Massachusetts, so his vote may go to waste. But... it gives me hope, that enough people in Ohio or Michigan or dare-say Pennsylvania may feel the same way as him!

Anyway, today I am struggling a bit, it is the weekend, Katie is taking a nap. We had an egg beater omelet with mushrooms and fat free cheese. (3 eggs worth, 90 calories, 2 slices cheese, 60 calories, mushrooms 20 calories, Pat and Spray Butter) So that's 170 calories and it is a huge plate of omelet. Anyway, later on I fried up the leftover mushrooms with some onions, Pam a bit of lemon grass and a splash of soy sauce. (I KNOW SODIUM IS BAD BUT IT HAS FLAVOR!??!)

About now, I am really hungry, I think I've drank a gallon of Crystal Light and seven cans of diet coke. I need some food! I think I am going to take some cottage cheese and mix it up in some tomato slices - it'll feel like I am eating mozzarella and tomatoes. I have to wake up Katie - so she doesn't sleep too long.

Monday is a big day, first week of results - I hope you are all ready!!!
