Week 24 Results

"The longest journey a man must take is the eighteen inches from his head to his heart."
- Unknown

24 Weeks of weight loss (and some gain.) 24 Weeks of watching the food go into your mouth. 24 Weeks of celebration and regret. 24 Weeks of living a healthier life. 24 weeks working on a new you.

24 Weeks is 168 days, - 4032 hours - 241,920 minutes - 14, 515, 200 seconds. As a group we have lost 399.1 lbs. (Thanks a lot to those who gained, it could have been 400!) We've lost 2.4 lbs per day. We've burned an extra 346 calories per hour! (which is like walking 3 miles an hour) We've NOT EATING 7,760 Devil Dogs.

So, how much did you contribute? Could you have done better? Are you lying to yourself.
In two weeks, we start round 2. We will have new players and although we will report to the initial baseline, we'll have a Round 2 baseline as well. Can you make the 18 inch journey from your head, that says, you need to do better, to your heart, to give you the courage to do so.

On to the results...

Just for a treat, I thought I'd show you the Original Challenge Super Tracker. Wow, Katie and I have really wasted Mom and Dad. Maybe they will fare better during Round 2.

399.1 lbs... Wow... that is TWO normal sized people.

Check out your chart, the goal is to make a ramp, that goes down. Angie, Aunt Ann and Aunt Jeanne - we're not going for a 2x4.
The core participants knocked out another 11.8 lbs this week. Thank you Katie for giving me inspiration to do better. I really feel like I have nothing but great weeks ahead of me and you really inspire me every day.

All right team! Only two non-losers this week! Great showing by Jessica and Mike & Lisa. Jessica!!! See what happens when you actually track what you eat. I can see the future and it is a 120 lb Sister!

From Bart to the Humans. Please continue to feed me. Daddy will yell at you, ignore him. I want every bite, not just the last one. Meme, I won't tell anybody about the cheese, or the leftover cat treats, or the half of the skinny cow you gave me. Pepe, come on, you love food too. Please, don't give up on me. I can get up to 100 lbs. I'll be the fattest dog ever, then we'll go on tour, see Jay and Dave, maybe a bit of Larry King. We could be rich. Feed me!!! Feed me all night long!

Great job to all who lost weight last week! I know it isn't easy, but it's definately worth it! Way to go Jess! You're back in the game!!!Let's try to have a perfect week next week.....losses for everyone! That would be great to see!
Chris, I'd like to suggest something for the second round. List everyone as individuals...no couples. That might give each member of each couple a little more incentive to try harder because they can't depend on their partner to show a loss. Just something to think about.

The core team pictures are unreal! What a difference! I can actually see a difference in my face on my blog picture too. My face was a little "fuller" back in August when it was taken. I'll have to find a newer one!

Here's to a new week of living healthy!
