So everyone needs a mantra, right? From Chris we've heard his is "Bread is Bad." Yvette is "eating to live" and Mom has her alliterative "5 P's."
Not wanting to be without a mantra of my own I've chosen for this week "I think I can." As a kid, the Little Engine that Could was always one of my favorite stories. And, it was a mantra I used when I was a first year engineering student and struggled with my workload. (get it? engine? engineer?) Ok it's lame, forgive me.
But my point is, I think it's helped to have a litte reminder when I've been stressed or bored and wanted to reach for something when I shouldn't have. You know, that little voice in your head to help you out of a bind?
So, for me it's been a good week so far. Just need to make it through the weekend which is always tough. The good news is I've definitely done better than last week and I think I can do this. Maybe next week my mantra will be "I knew I could."

Glad you're having a good week Jess! It's funny that you bring up The Little Engine That Could, because every time my 5 year old grandson says "I can't", I look at him and say "I think I can, I think I can, I know I can", and he always keeps trying. But it never occured to me to use that on myself! Thanks for the tip! So far this week, I haven't dropped an ounce, and it's not because of cheating, so that's a little discouraging. But I still have today and tomorrow....I think I can, I think I can, I know I can!
