There will be no links in this post, no pictures and no quotes. This is about our lives, it is about our health and our pursuit of happiness. Life is much too cluttered with distraction from what we should hold dear. Do we work harder? Do we spend more time on that which we enjoy? Do we love more? Do we care more? Do we talk more? Do we think less? That's right, I said it, do we think less.
We spend so much time getting ourselves wrapped around the axle on issues that frankly, do not matter. Here is what matters. Family, Love, Relationships, Enjoyment, Interests, and Passion. There is so much focus in the world on having more, getting more, making more, and yes; eating more.
I'm not anti-consumption, and I am not anti-capitalism. I am pro-living. I love all of you, that's right, I said it. I want us all to be better people, not only in our deeds, but in who we are, how we feel, and yes, what we weigh.
Make no mistake, being fat does not a bad person make. Being fat and not caring does make a bad person. Here's why, sloth, gluttony, excess represent the worst characteristics of man. Just because you can eat all you want, doesn't mean you should.
The skinny men and women who are hiding within us want to come out. I know that all who read this blog at their core root are the most caring, compassionite and ALIVE people that I've ever had the pleasure to know. We need to add life to living. This is our journey. We will win.
We will conquer the pizza, the burgers, the cheese, the mayonaise, the cold cuts, the bread, the blue cheese, the chili dip, the sausage, and everything else. More importantly, we will conquer the harsh reality of our own feelings. When you look deep into yourself and find that comfot comes from cones of cream and security stems from steaks not lean, you realize our problem is not in our bellies, our thighs, our calves or our ass. The problem stems from our hearts and our heads.
Our weight and eating, that's just conversation, once we feel good about us, lettuce can taste like chocolate.

I don't care how good I feel about myself - lettuce will never taste like chocolate! :-)
Very nice Chris!I think that I speak for all of us when I say that you and Katie always give us the boost that we need....the courage and strength to continue on our 'better health' journey. You have become MY "weight loss cheerleaders". Thank you so much! I'm not sure if you only want the 4 official contestants to post, but if it's alright with the four of you, I would like to post a short article by Jillian from the Biggest Loser. Let me know if it's okay.
Chris I think you missed your calling. Your writing reads professional and from the heart. I am trying to get Gail to join us too. She is concerned about her weight and if she handles it now she will be better off in the future. I don't want her to go through what I have gone through most of my life. She enjoys your emails to her. She really looks up to you. No pressure :)
Yvette, I have no problem if you want to contribute content, just email it to me and I'll go ahead and post it - and give you due credit. :)
