A.S.A.P.

Why is it that we all want things to happen so quickly? Why don't we enjoy the journey?

We will pay extra for overnight shipping on that item we had to have; we will drive faster, breaking the law, only to arrive a few moments earlier; we use credit to buy something we "need" instead of saving to buy it later. We want to lose all of our weight overnight when it took us years to gain those 10, 15, 30, 50 pounds.

I am extremely guilty of this too. I had a mini nervous breakdown today because I only lost 2 pounds this week compared to the 9 I lost last week. I felt like I was failing and that I couldn't do this and that I would just be better off if I quit. I sometimes wish I could blink my eyes and all the weight would be gone.

But then we would miss out on the journey - we've all kept in touch so much better over the past two months; we've started to fix our food mentality (although this is a constant struggle); we've learned how to be better people. In other words, I'm enjoying the journey with all of you.

You called it a journey and that is exactly what it is. We have to learn to enjoy the journey whether it is the time we get ready for the holidays to losing weight. Patience is so hard to practice. Old Catholic proverb is if you pray for patience God will send you more to bear to prove how much patience you have in you. Just do your best and enjoy the journey. We will be "there".
