Weight Loss Trends

I am not sure if you are all familiar with Google Trends. It is a tool on Google that allows you to see what people are searching for and if the trend is going up. So, for an example if you look at the trend for Sarah Palin, you'd see a big spike in the last two weeks, which makes sense since she just jumped on to the National Stage.

Anyway, take a look at this Google Trend. WOW! So the search for "weight" spikes just after New Years and declines throughout the year. This is a good reminder for us, that a Monday, or first day of the month, or your birthday, or even New Years are not the right days to start eating right and getting in shape. So which day is the right day to start getting more healthy, that answer is simple, today!

Let's not fall into the same trap that so many people fall in to as shown by Google Trends, we start and then fall off, only to decide to start again. That's the point - a "diet" can't work. A diet can only fix our bodies, we have to work to fix our heads, that my friends, is the only long-term solution.

Thanks, I'd love to! I think this is exactly what I need. I'm a little scared, because, like Katie, I'm afraid I'll fail, but I know I have to keep a possitive attitude. If I slip up, I won't bang myself on the head and give up. That's been my big downfall in the past. I'd cheat on my diet and see myself as a failure and quit. I have to change that way of thinking. My goal is to be lighter and healthier by my birthday, which is in exactly 3 months.
What do I have to do to join?

Its simple, just email your baseline weight to me... (Start on this coming Monday, because what you are doing really does take time to mentally prepare) Anyway, you weigh in on Monday, send that to me, then the next Monday, you weigh in again and send it to me. Then we publish your results. If you give up! Then thousands will know about it!!!! :) Get my email address from my mother, because we can't post addresses on the blog! Good luck and happy dieting!

Thanks Katie. I'm going to buy a new scale after work, so I can get an accurate weigh in. Looking forward to my new "journey", but still a little scared! But having everyone's support will be a HUGE advantage.
