Odds and Ends

Chris and I started to work on his computer room again this weekend. We had this extra bedroom in our house - the dreaded "pink room" - that we have put off doing anything to. We have always thought that we would turn it into a computer lab for his old systems and video games. When his parents came down to visit last month, John helped him start the project. I painted the room "dark granite" - a dark brownish gray - before they started. They put down pergo floors with a slate tile pattern in brown and gray tones that matches the carpet they tore up thats throughout the rest of the house and the walls and they put up counters along both walls. This weekend we worked on some of the little detail work they didn't get to.

I went to Home Depot to pick up odds and ends to do the work in the computer room. When I drove up, I fell in love with all the fall colors in the nursery. Fall is my favorite season - the colors, the way the light changes, the way it smells, the temperature cooling down. Unfortunately, fall comes a little later down here in GA and doesnt stay as long. We get approximately 9 months of summer, 1 month of fall, 1 month of winter, and 1 month of spring. So anyways, I had to buy two big pots of light purple mums for my front steps. Then I absolutley had to go to Hobby Lobby to buy florals to make a new fall wreath to match. When I got back, we worked on the computer room. When we were done, I felt like I had been working out - how sad is that? I walk two department stores, do some sanding and drilling and I ache. Well, it's not an accident that I need to lose weight.

We decided last night that we wanted to go away together next weekend. We're going to the Chateau Elan Spa and Winery . Chris suggested it because we have done so well the past two weeks that we deserve to treat ourselves. Who am I to argue with him about going to the spa?!?! We will be sending Bart off to Doggie Day Spa and we willl check in Friday and check out Sunday and come home refreshed and rejuvenated and ready to kick butt on our diet. I can't wait for my massage -I hold all my tension in back and shoulders so it is always full of knots. The last time I had one was when we were in Puerto Rico in February and I was sore for the next two days...apparently my muscles dont like being in the proper position.
Well tomorrow is the big day! Good luck and lots of love to all!!
